Mind-Body Therapies

Mind-Body Therapies: Sensorimotor, EFT, CBT, MBCT: Friday November 18, 2016, 10-5pm

In this one day workshop, students are introduced to a variety of therapies that engage the body and mind in healing. Students will explore various techniques derived from Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy.

Students will have the opportunity to participate in supervised clinical intakes in the afternoon, where they experience these techniques first hand.

Rachael Frankfort holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work and has over 15 years experience working as an employee of St. Michael’s hospital in the departments of psychiatry, family practice, cancer care and palliative care. She is a registered Social Worker in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Workers and also a member of the Ontario Association of Social Workers. Rachael's specialization is in mental health and she has extensive training in evidence based psychotherapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, and Emotionally Focused Therapy. Rachael has lectured for the Department of Family and Community Medicine at UofT, and provides psychoeducational workshops on topics related to mental health for students, staff and clients. Rachael is passionate about body oriented approaches to psychotherapy and wellness and am trained as a mindfulness and yoga teacher.
